So disappointing.................
I really am struggling to find words to describe just how disappointing this franchise has become. It seems determined to cater for only the most intense of nerds who have endless hours to play. Compare this to the fun that the old Championship Manager used to bring. There wasn't the level of detail and sure there were bugs but it was at least enjoyable.

I struggle to understand why the makers of this game don't realise they are alienating a whole generation of fans who simply want to play and win without having to struggle for everything. Surely a simplified game mode isn't too much to ask for is it?

Very, very disappointing.

my fm10 review
good game play not as addicting as the old one but that might be seen better so not as much life wasted on it.

Punishing
Incredibly punishing game difficulty wise. I have spent a lot of time with this, reading up on the tactics, sideline shouts, formations, I have used a scout program (cheated!)
to get the best players to my squad, and introduced new players into my squad gradually. I have given the players time to settle in. I adjust tactics to suit my players,
the opposition, the assistant manager's assessments on a match by match basis. I adjust settings during the match according to how things are going. And still I see my team loose or draw to a dramatic extra time goal nearly every match.
This game desparatly needs an easy difficulty setting. I just want to have a bit of fun after all, but no, I am punished for any of the slightest mistakes I make. Praised a player in good form? = team upset = loose next match. Didnt praise a player in good form? = player upset = loose next match!
Sports Interactive, you have a great product here, but until you make it fun again you have lost a customer.

Mac Version is Inexcusably Buggy
Just as a warning, the mac version of the game is prone to repeated and frequent crashes, typically in the TV view of a game you are winning. There has been one update since the game was originally released. Since the (mac version of the) game doesn't send back any data when it crashes, I'm not sure the developers are even aware of this (or care). I started playing CM on the Amiga in 1993; this has to be the worst version of the game, for reliability, since that version. There are a few other bugs in it as well (be careful not to trust your staff to register all your players, when in the Premier League) and I suspect the developers have got too used to releasing a new version of the game and then sitting back and watching the money come in. The gameplay is excellent, and the TV view of games is a big advance for this kind of game. But the game's reliability and it's associated support really lets it down.
