You can respond to your virtual pet's need of attention by stroking the screen, using items such as balls and brushes with the aid of the stylus, and talking to your dogs through the DS's inbuilt microphone system. Impressive 3D graphics give lifelike animation to these canine wonders.

Most exciting moment:
After a few attempts to speak commands into the microphone, your puppy understands the meaning of "sit", barks approval, and sits down. It's good to talk.

I would agree that this isn't so much a game, but a simulation. But an enjoyable one at that. If you simply adore dogs, and wish they would stay puppies, forever gamboling around and playing, then this is perfect for you. Plus, less mess than a real dog, and less responsibility, but you may even feel a bit guilty when your dogs are angry at you for neglecting them, or even when they run away. This game is so chock-full of stuff to do- contests, items, the general maitenance you need to give your dogs. The game is so realistic too, your dogs tire, have their own moods, move like dogs do...
I repeat, this is more of a quirky, easy-going simulation, comparable to the Sims. So if you like fast, action-packed games with one big goal to acheive at the end, look elsewhere. Otherwise, for family fun and charm, this is right up your tree.

To the person who chose Tetris over this... Why?!!! Tetris can be played on almost anything this is a unique game. The interactivity is very clever and I love the way you can blow bubbles by blowing onto the screen.

You can do a number of things with your puppy. The obvious things are feeding, watering and walking. You can also teach your dog to respong to your commands by training it with voice commands. There are also competitions that are quite challenging that you can enter. This is the main way of gaining money.

As well as this because it's in real time it's more like caring for an actual dog. If you neglect it, it will become upset and so on. There are also new things to buy at the shop as days go by and there are also secret items to discover and collect.

I thoroughly enjoy this game and so does my friend (he's 21) Its a fun game. Brilliant for young children as it shows looking after something rather than smashing it to bits, and also fun for Big Kids like me =)

A friend of mine had this game so I knew how good it was already. I thought if I ever get a DS then I'm getting this game. I bought a DS Lite a while ago so of course I bought this game. It's just so unbelievably sweet and cute. I'm a 32 year old man by the way. I used to have a Golden Retriever called Ben so I didn't have to think twice what to name my Nintendog. Using the microphone to help your dog learn tricks works amazingly well. The first time I told Ben to roll over and he did I was stunned. I recently got as far as the park with him and we had a great time playing with the frisbee. He's nearly ready for one of the competitions. Basically if you have a DS and you love dogs then you need this game. If you don't fall in love with it then you must have a heart of stone.

At first, i thought SP Was Better Than DS. Wahh?? Ok I Was Young And Foolish... Anyway After Seeing My Friend Alex's DS, I Had to pick One up! The Graphics Are Insane! The Little Dogs Are so Cute! Basicly, Its Great. Well Done Nintendo.

I asked Santa Claus(I`m 11 years old) for this game along with another game and a Nintendo DS.
When I got this game, I stayed into it for a few months.
But when April hit the year... BOOOORIIIING!!!
Why buy a Nintendog when you can buy a Tamagotchi?
Don`t bother buying this! Get a Tamagotchi instead! Tamagotchis are the ultimite evolution of virtual pets!
Buying one of these is a waste of money.
