Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock boss battles give fans a chance to compete against legendary guitarists such as Slash and Tom Morello. Players are required to deplete the boss' Rock Meter before the boss goes into their Death Drain solo, which always means 'lights-out.' After defeating a boss, players unlock that guitarist as a playable character and continue to the encore for the set list, which is a master recording of one of their respective bands' most well-known tracks. for instance, When Morello is defeated, the next performance is "Bulls on Parade," during which Morello performs on stage alongside the player. Guitar Hero 3 Features: Slash?s Original Boss Battle Recording Welcome to The Jungle (by Guns N? Roses) One (by Metallica) Paint It Black (by The Rolling Stones) Cherub Rock (by Smashing Pumpkins) Sabotage (by Beastie Boys) The Metal (by Tenacious D) My Name is Jonas (by Weezer) Knights of Cydonia (by Muse) Even Flow (by Pearl Jam) Lay Down (by Priestess) Cult of Personality (by Living Colour) Miss Murder (by AFI) Through Fire and Flames (by Dragonforce) Number of the Beast (by Iron Maiden) 3's and 7's (by Queens of the Stone Age) Suck My Kiss (by Red Hot Chili Peppers) Raining Blood (by Slayer) Paranoid (as made famous by Black Sabbath) Cities on Flame (as made famous by Blue Oyster Cult) Mississippi Queen (as made famous by Mountain) La Grange (as made famous by ZZ Top) Rock and Roll All Nite (as made famous by Kiss) School?s Out (as made famous by Alice Cooper) Rock You Like a Hurricane (as made famous by Scorpions) Slow Ride (as made famous by Foghat) Barracuda (as made famous by Heart)

Amazon Customer Review at Compare Game Prices:

nothing new still fun though - (3/5)
Neversoft's first take on the Guitar Hero franchise really doesn't make any changes to the formula Harmonix created with GH1 and GH2. This isn't really a bad thing since the GH1 and GH2 formulas are so great, but it would have really been nice to see something new for the series. Here's a breakdown of the game:

Gameplay/Guitar:
The gameplay pretty much follows the old GH formula, except for the fact that the window of time that you can a play a note in has been extended a little bit. This isn't such a bad thing because some of the later levels in the game would be nearly impossible without this small change.Tilting the guitar to set off star power doesn't work! I had to shake violently and even then, it would only set off star power intermittently causing you to mess up part of the song. The pop-up note streak thing (i.e. the pop up that indicates that you have hit a 50-note streak, 100-note streak, etc.) is more distracting than helpful.

Set list:
This is where GH3 really shines. This is definitely the best set list yet. It includes songs like Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones, Welcome to the Jungle by Guns and Roses, and One by Metallica. Nearly all the songs are originals and they all sound really great. This is the best Guitar Hero set list yet. Unfortunately, there are a couple songs which you can only unlock in co-op, so if you don't have a second guitar you'll have to either attempt to play with a regular controller, or just forget about playing these songs. These co-op only songs aren't small songs either, a couple of them like Suck my Kiss and Sabotage are actually advertised as some of the top songs in the game on the box.

Career/Co-op Career:
The regular career is exactly the same as the past GH game except for the addition of some little cartoons after every set and three boss battles placed throughout the sets. The cartoons are cute but really add nothing to the game. The boss battles are a terrible idea they are not fun in the slightest and rely on luck to win. Also the songs that you play during the boss battles are only playable in single-player career, so as awesome as it sounds to battle your friend to either Tom Morello or Slash's solo filled battle song, sorry, but you can't. The co-op career is really good and it's really fun to be able to play through the career with a friend.

Overall:
Guitar Hero 3 is basically the same as GH1 and GH2, it has the best songs of all the GH games, and the controller is flawed but it is nice to be able to play wirelessly. It's too bad that there's nearly nothing new, but it still includes all the fun of the other guitar hero games. In terms of game play i give GH3 4/5 but taking price in to concideration 3/5

How to have fun with your Clothers On! - (5/5)
What is this game all about...

I first came across GH3 on new years day at my brothers house, where is seen this strange looking little guitar sitting in the corner next to the TV. When asked about it, my brother told me it what it was and gave me a shot of the game. Since that day i have been mesmorised by GH3, so much so that i scoured Scotland high and low to try and get a Nintendo Wii, and when i did finally manage to track down a console at a reasonable price (not the rip of prices by the big retail chains or the capatalists on eBay) the very first game i added to my new collection was Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock. This game will have you and your friends hooked for hours and hours and hours, and when they are not around, with a little bit of technical knowledge and a broadband internet connection (wireless or not) you can go on to Nintendo's FREE wifi site and have Guitar battles with other people who have hooked up their GH3 to their internet!

Buy this game or dont buy this game, the choice is yours, but its a hell of a lot of fun! Is it worth £60...usually i would never pay that for a game, but this is probably the only game i have every bought that i tell people...ITS WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY!!!

Good and impressed - (5/5)
well, this is the 1st of the guitar games that i've played, and i have 2 say that it is quite hard, but in the end, you get used 2 the controls and get the drift. i've already completed it on medium, but took around a week, and the added online feature isn't ranked in a online way, but in a carer way. Overall, the sound is unoticible on my tv( phillips 32in hd lcd) and a very good game, i've had a lot of fun with it!

Amazon Customer Review at Compare Game Prices:

Very good - (5/5)
This game is VERY good. This one took me the longest to complete, about 2 half days. The online as well is very fun, and tournaments on the official site. I didn't notice the mono till people said it was, and I have surround sound.

Pros:

+Online is fun
+Lot's of song
+Harder than the predecessors
+Nice wii only features
+Battle mode fun offline
+It's Guitar Hero
+£10 cheaper than the 360/PS3

Cons:

-Second guitar cost's £70 atm
-Battle mode not too fun online
-Graphics are not very nice
-A bit glitchy
-Seems easier to play than the 360 or PS2 versions

There is a new disk being release which will be sent out free. I've heard from places that it will have the boss battles playable as individual songs. Don't know where from or when or if it was true, but I hope it is...

Awesome!! - (5/5)
Got this for Christmas and have not been off it since! There is a near perfect learning curve and the game is so much for groups and on your own over the net. The fact that you have to put the WII remote into the controller is a great addition. Online mutliplayer is also really good, and competitive!
