fifa is the original football game, the first one being released over 10 years ago, yet i think its losing ground rapidly on pro evolution soccer. for gameplay, there is only one winner. pro evolution soccer feels like a football game - fifa doesnt. it feels sticky, unrealistic. in licensing terms, fifa smashes pro evo, but this doesnt contribute much to a game. fifa with pro evo gameplay would be one hell of a game.

i like the sound of the Be A Pro mode - it seems like finally, Fifa is trying something fresh. things have fallen downhill since 2001 and the introduction of pro evo - i've played fifa's from 1996 to 2000 and it seems like EA have really put their heart into it, while now the game lags behind others in the market.

if be a pro works, this game could be a huge success. if it doesn't then
my annual £40 going into EA sports' pockets could maybe just stay in mine

i can write a review but what i can do is write a preview.
this game will include more leagues so now i can play as my team leeds united as it will include the championship and league 1.
also the visuals are improved and the charatcers now have much better ai. also with season and quick matches you can also play as one player and have your computer control the rest of the team which i personally think is great as it will make the game much more challenging and realistic like say your henry and you could be overlapping ronaldihnio get ball past to you by the computer open on goal
makes the game much more realistic. if you own a ps3 this is a must have game.
this or pro evo. as i have always bought pro evo over fifa as it plays a lot better but gets trumped by the visualls of fifa but pro evo is a bit easy so im moving to fifa to check it out.
also im choosing cus i can play as the team i support go on leeds.
overall the game is very realistic with the adition of better ball physics which affects the way you shoot judged on pressure from defenders ect.

This year it going to be tuff to even pick from both! me always have got FIFA and they were fun some of them were a little rubbish but still fun! PES were good but felt a little like you are at the moives and playing on the games they have there! but got better and better and the new one does look good with the pics I have seen! so just wait and see! (The rateings are not the turth)

This is NOT a review! I agree with the last (2?) posts that you can't review a game that hasn't come out yet (that's what the word PREVIEW was invented for).

However, in terms of FIFA v Pro-evo, I think that the best way to summarise them is that FIFA is a football GAME, where as PES is a football SIMULATION.

I, personally, have been a FIFA fan for a number of years. I recognise the weaknesses and drawbacks of it, but I just feel that the whole package is good fun. I haven't looked at PES for a couple of years, but when I did i just found the lack of commentary and real player/club names a bit annoying. I could see that the actual gameplay was better, but as I just wanted it primarily as a 1 player game I stuck with FIFA. If I wanted multiplayer where the banter between others in the room drowns out the commentary anyway, then I probably would have gone for PES.

As I did a few years ago, I will probably rent the new FIFA and PES and decide which one to go for from there.

Each to their own I say. It's a bike like the Nintendo vs Sega days of old (or even Spectrum vs Amastrad if anyone remembers them!!).

(By the way, I gave it three stars as Amazon needed something and I thought that in the middle was fair)

How can you possibly write a constructive review for an, as yet, unreleased game based on screen shots from a notoriously bias publication such as Official Playstation Magazine????
The FIFA series, in general, have all been dogs with fleas and nothing would suggest that this new title would be any different. If you are going to write a review please have some subject matter to base your opinions on.
