Love Burnout Paradise Demo, Motion Control needs work - (5/5)
Well i downloaded the demo on the first day i got my ps3 40gb and i have to say this is by far the best game i have yet seen on the ps3 so far.
What i hate about racing games nowdays is these racing games which are neither full simulation (like Forza) or like a classic fun arcade racer like RR1.
The last thing we need in the gaming word is another pointless Juiced or need for speed.
What Burnout Paradise does it does well, and that is being a pure arcade style racer with focus on speed/fun and crashes not technicalities and real world accuracies.
The graphics are simply incredible on my 37 bravia, smooth, flowing and incredible detail.
After driving round for these past weeks i am still amazed how big the demo is!
Then i look at the full map and the demo is only a little section of the full map, which is open from the start! GTA take note.
OK the bad, yes there is one bad thing with BP, but its only one!
When you use the motion sensitive control of the SIXAXIS controller there is considerable lag, it is also FAR TOO SENSITIVE, if you compare this to the motion control of Motorstorm it really is dismal.
To be one of the best potential racing games of all time in my opinion they need to make sure the motion sensitive control works well and allow the user to modify the sensitivity settings.
Overall still a 5/5 because it's just so damn brilliant, i will be sure to get it ASAR.

Everything I dreamed it would be - (5/5)
I have been a long standing fan of the Burnout series so my hopes for the first next-gen instalment were pretty serious. I have just played the downloadable demo and have barely been able to stop salivating. Okay, it's only the demo, but from what I have just experienced, there is no way it can go wrong.
The guys behind this have taken a leaf (or several) off Rockstar's tree and made the entire game roamable, with a nifty map to help you find your way around and find the races/challenges. That's pretty nice.
The graphics are by far the best I have yet seen on a PS3 game. Beautiful would be an understatement. The environment is almost flawless, practically everything is destructable, the cars look incredibly real and they have worked the physics of the crashes out to a T. Fortunately, there are no people in the cars which may look a bit odd, but I'm not sure I'd enjoying trashing my motor by slamming it into the side of a bus at 130 mph if they had animated mangled bodies flying out of it.
It is an experience that has to be had to be believed. I'm in love. I'm going to use my remaining two days holiday at work to stay at home and play this when it comes out so they'd better not move the release date back again. "That's a bit sad", you may be thinking. Trust me, I'll be smiling on the day (and you'll be at work).
